/7th February 2015, News by RES AnatoliaTM/

RES Anatolia is proud to announce that it has won the TEİAŞ SPP tender held on January 29th 2015, to receive the preliminary license for the 18.61 MW Küçükköy solar power plant, which will be developed in the Korkuteli province. The aim was to win 18.61 MW out of the 29 MW available in Antalya, one of the regions targeted for the 2nd round of tender for preliminary license applications for solar energy based power plants and we are pleased to have reached this goal.

RES Anatolia has a total of 8 projects for a total of 205.5 MW in the pipeline for SPP preliminary license applications made in June 2013 and will therefore present other projects at the next tender, soon to be announced by TEİAŞ.

Thanks to this 18.61 MW Küçükköy SPP project capacity allocation, RES Anatolia has once again shown its expertise in project development and licensing.

Being the first solar plant for RES Anatolia in Turkey, the Antalya Küçükköy SPP project is also going to be the first solar investment for RES in Turkey after its US, Canadian, UK and French projects. With an annual electricity production of around 38 GWh, the solar farm will produce enough electricity to supply the needs of 20,000 homes and will avoid the emission of 22,000 tonnes of CO2 annually, further contributing to our aim to help protect the environment.

For this project, RES Anatolia's aim is to work with as many Turkish suppliers as possible, to add additional value to the national economy. Moving forward in the Turkish renewable energy market and with its global experience, RES Anatolia is looking to expand it solar and wind portfolio day by day. This new solar achievement is yet another step towards contributing to Turkey's 2023 energy goal and driving the transition to a low carbon future.
