Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Power Market Outlook 2016÷2025

/27th October 2016, by Renewable Market Watch™/

The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) are representing a world region with huge solar potentials, but where so far photovoltaic energy plays only a marginal role. Total photovoltaic installations in CIS countries have only reached 299 MW at the of 2012, a very small share of the global cumulative installed photovoltaic capacity of 102 GW in 2012.

Geographically, all CIS countries are suitable for the production of solar energy throughout the whole year. The countries with highest potential are Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

Renewable Market Watch™ published the new report Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Market Outlook 2016÷2025. The aim of this multi-country study is to identify opportunities for investments in the solar PV market of CIS states. In this report an attempt is made to find ways to enhance the situation in general in order to mitigate risks related to the security of energy supplies in the CIS region.
